Fostering student athletes

Nothing beats sitting in our gym stands, feeling the adrenaline, cheering for our Warriors athletic teams! Athletes are at the heart of school spirit and an important element of student engagement, enjoyment and retention.

Athletes are at the heart of school spirit
Volleyball and basketball players proudly don their Warriors jerseys as they compete in local leagues, and travel to play in regional tournaments. This year, our teams hit the road to play in tournaments throughout the province and in Nova Scotia. But it’s not just the competitiveness of sport – it’s also the comradery created among the players and the character they build. Our athletes are some of the most well-rounded students on our campus.

We want to build on the momentum we’ve generated by engaging the community, increasing the number of young athletes who participate in our sports camps, club teams and training programs.  Some of our programming for these young athletes includes Grenfell Warriors Summer Camps, Grenfell Mini Warriors Triple Ball and the Junior Warriors Volleyball Club. In addition, community groups such as the Boy Scouts of Canada have visited our campus for training opportunities.

Our athletes have also been engaged on campus at events like Bell Let’s Talk, the Terry Fox Run and Orientation. And our coaches have demonstrated commitment and professionalism in working with our student athletes to remain competitive.

We’re delighted that both Marine Atlantic and Subway Canada continue to be platinum sponsors of our athletic programs. These sponsors help in purchasing uniforms and equipment and ensure our students are able to travel to competition.
